Drakken Expands Presence in Kurdistan with Chemchemal Project Award

Drakken has been awarded a contract by Pearl Petroleum for the design, fabrication, and supply of a Local Electrical Room (LER) for the Chemchemal development.

Pearl Petroleum continues to advance the expansion of its operations in the Kurdistan Region, including the development of the Chemchemal gas field and optimisation of existing facilities. These initiatives are focused on increasing gas production capacity, debottlenecking infrastructure, and supporting reliable gas supply for power generation.

As part of this scope, Drakken will deliver a compact, prefabricated electrical substation integrating LV power distribution and UPS systems within a single Local Electrical Room. The unit is designed for easy deployment in harsh desert environments, focusing on reliability, maintainability, and operational continuity.

Drakken brings a strong track record of supporting operators and EPC contractors across the Kurdistan Region, with experience delivering robust, integrated electrical and automation systems in challenging operating conditions.

This award marks the beginning of Drakken’s involvement in the Chemchemal development, and we look forward to working closely with Pearl Petroleum to successfully deliver this project and support future phases of expansion.
